This Keck & Keck mid-century modern classic is surrounded by native woodland plants and features a zen-like courtyard. Sedge grass, which is native to thickets and woodland areas, populates the forest floor along with a thoughtfully placed boulder. These elements provide a serenity that complements a structure designed to blend in with its natural surroundings and take advantage of passive solar energy. Special care was made to relay the original slate tiles in the courtyard, which is decorated with aspens potted in custom-made concrete containers. The aspen leaves make pleasing sounds in the wind and turn yellow in autumn, providing interest and variety throughout the year. Ornamental grasses and furniture designed by ___________ give the courtyard an elegant simplicity that suits the less-is-more style of Keck & Keck.
